"The Tamara Tarot is a stunning digital collage deck that features AI generated elements assembled into striking new images. This unique deck draws inspiration from the iconic works of artists like Tamara de Lempicka, Dod Procter, Sonia Delaunay-Terk and many more. Each card is a thoughtful redesigned representation of the tarot's traditional Rider-Waite-Smith meanings, brought to life with vibrant colors and intricate details. Whether you're a seasoned tarot reader or simply appreciate the artistry of a well-crafted deck, the Tamara Tarot is sure to captivate and inspire."
Well, this was a very short marketing text that didn't delve much into what you'd actually gain by supporting this project. Therefore, I'd like to get a bit more personal and provide additional details for those who prefer taking the time to read a bit more about this new card deck:
After the success of the 'Habetrot Traum Tarot' campaign, I'm diving into my second project—the Tamara Tarot. It's a very personal card deck, very easy to use and blends my love for 20th-century art with my wild enthusiasm for stories, tarot, and the alternative worlds I cook up in my head. With the Tamara Tarot, you're stepping into a different corner of the Habetrot universe—a place that's all about beauty, femininity, and vibes like something out of a Simone de Beauvoir novel, a story of Francoise Sagan and a tiny bit of J. R. R. Tolkien. Maybe there's a hint of jazz playing softly in the background as you shuffle through the deck.
And if none of the mentioned names sound familiar to you, don't worry, they are only the inspiration, in the end, it's the distinctive Habetrot style that will win you over.
--= About the Art=--
The deck draws inspiration from several artists, but in every single card a bit of influence comes from Tamara de Lempicka and her powerful female figures. If you're intrigued and want to learn more about this fascinating and somewhat controversial artist, I recommend checking out her details.
Other artists that contributed to the inspiration include Dod Procter, Sonia Delaunay-Terk, Frida Kahlo, Paul Gauguin, Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Hilma af Klint, Leonora Carrington, Rene Magritte, Evelyn de Morgan, John William Waterhouse, Henri Rousseau, Amedeo Modigliani, Hannah Höch, Felix Vallotton, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and many more.
- Fun fact: Many of these artists were contemporaries of Pamela Colman Smith and Arthur Edward Waite, who created the famous Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot deck.
I am aware of the controversy surrounding AI Art and want to ensure you make an informed decision before purchasing this deck. I used a generative AI tool for the many elements in the pictures. While the topic is still highly debated, I aim to demonstrate that it can be used responsibly—as a tool that provides new, but still limited, possibilities rather, than simply for deception. Although the deck draws inspiration from the mentioned artists, none of the elements is a copy of their styles.
Additionally, each card is an assemblage of a minimum of five elements, a lot of image editing, hand-drawn additions and corrections and a carefully crafted concept to convey the meaning of the card. It is a collage deck but without using pre-existing pictures from books, magazines, or stock photos.
